Background:

Mr. Thompson has a Masters in Public Policy and Administration, with a concentration in Environmental Policy, Planning and Managements. He attended Jackson State University MFA Theatre, with an concentration in performance, Actors Studio Drama School at the New School University with a BA Theater, and a minor in English Literature and Spanish, Millsaps College.

Mr. Thompson is employed as a Case Manager for Newport Health and volunteers at South Kingstown Senior Center, Meals on Wheels and the Niantic Bay Playhouse.

Mr. Thompson is interested in serving his community and believed that his experience in environmental policy as well as his ongoing dedication to protecting and conserving natural resources.

In accordance with Chapter IV; Section 8 of the Town Charter "Except as otherwise provided for in this Charter, the Town Council may appoint members to fill vacancies in other offices, boards, and commissions established by this Charter and by ordinance as vacancies may occur, and appointing members to such offices, boards, and commissions as may be created in the future. Such appointments shall be made by the Town Council for such terms and upon such conditions as provided in the respective ordinance".
