MOTION to adopt a proposed “Resolution - Town of Ledyard Position Statement and Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion” as presented in the draft dated June 11, 2026.

Background:
In working to obtain a Sustainable CT Bronze Certificate the town is required to host an Equity Training for municipal staff and municipal employees.
In addition, the Legislative Body is required to adopt a Statement on Equity.(Please see attached Sustainable CT letter dated 5/12/2026).
These actions needed to be completed within the last three (3) years.
In addition, the requested actions need to be completed by early August, 2026 to help the Sustainable CT Ad Hoc Committee meet the August 18, 2026 deadline.

• 3/23/2022 - Town Council adopted a “Resolution Regarding the Town’s Position Against the use of Rasit and Discretionary Language and Behavior”
• 9/21/2022- Community Relations Committee “Mission Statement”
• 3/24/2021- Town Council adopted a “Town Council Position Statement
Regarding Board of Education Plans, Policies, Programs”
