Discussion and possible action regarding the Sustainable CT AD Hoc Committee’s request as transmitted in their May 12, 2026 letter regarding the following:
• Host an Equity Training
• Develop and Adopt a Statement on Equity.

Background:
In working to obtain a Sustainable CT Bronze Certificate the town is required to host an Equity Training for municipal staff and municipal employees.
In addition, the Legislative Body is required to adopt a Statement on Equity.(Please see attached Sustainable CT letter dated 5/12/2026).
These actions needed to be completed within the last three (3) years.
In addition, the requested actions need to be completed by early August, 2026 to help the Sustainable CT Ad Hoc Committee meet the August 18, 2026 deadline.

• 3/23/2022 - Town Council adopted a “Resolution Regarding the Town’s Position Against the use of Rasit and Discretionary Language and Behavior”
• 9/21/2022- Community Relations Committee “Mission Statement”
• 3/24/2021- Town Council adopted a “Town Council Position Statement
