Wreathes - Chairperson Eastbourne reported that handmade wreathes were delivered to the
Senior Center. The wreathes were put together in collaboration with Paula Crocker form Senior
Housing. The wreathes were delivered to residents who signed up to receive them. The
recipients were very appreciative. Chairperson Eastbourne said it was a very worthwhile project.
The Committee was asked if they would like to participate again next year. Ms. Kohrs suggested
having a quick how-to session beforehand to assure that the wreathes are made tight enough to
hold up. Ms. Martic said she teaches a wreath making class and may be able to donate extra
materials.
SCRRRA - January 6, 2023, will be the paper making class at St. Luke's Church at 2:00 p.m.
There will be a limit of 20 kids, on a first come first serve basis. Chairperson Eastbourne said
she wants parents to stay as opposed to dropping off their children. The Committee will just
need to bring seeds and SCRRRA will provide everything else. Chairperson Eastbourne asked if
the Committee should provide snacks. Ms. Kohrs said she doesn't think the Committee needs to
provide snacks since it isn't at a mealtime. Ms. Kohrs asked if there is a suggested age range for
the class. Chairperson Eastbourne said she believes it is a minimum age of seven but will
confirm. Ms. Martic will not be able to attend.
Earth Day - Chairperson Eastbourne said the Committee should start thinking about Earth Day,
which is on April 22, 2024. She suggested a Town wide clean-up with a gathering either before
or after the clean-up. Since Earth Day is on a Monday Ms. Kohrs suggested the 21st since the
20th would most likely be Little League opening day. Ms. Schneider suggested Earth Month
where residents pick what day they would like to do the clean-up. The idea of having a Town
meet up event after the neighborhood cleanups was suggested. Also, the possibility of having
food trucks present, some food trucks may donate for non-profits. Contest such as a nip
collecting could be held. Tentatively April 21st from 2-4 p.m. will be the event date/time. The
Committee will reach out to Scott Johnson, Parks and Recreation Director to reserve the upper
Town Green and Pavilion.
Daffodil Days - Chairperson Eastbourne said some Towns sell daffodil bulbs in
September/October. Ms. Kohrs suggested partnering with Holdridge Nursery, maybe even hold a
vote between 3-4 different daffodil varieties to see which one will become the official daffodil of
