CALL TO ORDER  
The Regular Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Kohrs at 5:03 p.m.  
Due to technical difficulties the meeting was not recorded.

PUBLIC COMMENTS  
Ms. Taylor and Mr. Schroeder were present to share ideas to beautify the Gales Ferry Route 12  
corridor:  
- Planting trees along the main road.  
- Decorative poles and banners.  
- Grants from Hart Family Funds and T-Mobile was suggested.  
- T-Mobile provides funding for community murals; a mural at Ocean State Job Lot was  
discussed.  
- Ms. Hawes mentioned DOT is a challenge for anything on the side of the road.  
- Look into how the poles were done in Ledyard Center.  
- In 2012, there were plans to revitalize Gales Ferry. Economic Development Commission  
(EDC) is meeting tonight (April 7, 2026). Mr. Schroeder will be presenting the project there as  
well. Mr. Schroeder mentioned that Mike Cherry from EDC is also supportive of the project.  
- Partnerships with Gales Ferry Historic District or Committee were discussed.  
- Mr. Schroeder explained that this project is within planning and zoning.  
- Property owners need to be contacted to see what land the DOT owns.  
- Chairperson Kohrs discussed bringing the matter up with April Brunelle, Town Councilor.

Daffodils:  
- Chairperson Kohrs will contact April Brunelle, Town Council to inquire about the process of  
making daffodil the official Ledyard flower.  
- Mr. Schroeder mentioned daffodils can be dug up at Ericson Park for free.  
- Chairperson Kohrs reached-out to Full Heart farm concerning the Ledyard daffodil, which  
could be sold as a fundraiser, but the cost this year was thought to be too high.  
- Reach-out to Ocean State Job Lot to inquire about getting seeds donated.  
Earth Day (Fill the dumpster and trash and treasure art exhibition):  
- To be held April 25, 2026, from 1-3 p.m. at The Bill Library, co-sponsor for the event.  
Committee members are to arrive at 12:30 for set-up.  
- For every bag brought, participants will get a ticket for drawing.  
- Chairperson Kohrs has gift cards.  
- Ms. Walsh will create a basket and will ask for donations from local businesses.  
- Help is needed with promoting the event; invite friends to the event.  
- Ms. Hawes will print flyers for distribution.  
- Reanna Steele will be present with house plants.  
- Set-up the art exhibition. Pieces are to be dropped-off by 12:30 p.m.  
- Ask Mayor Fred Allyn III, or Chief Rich to be the judge.  
Seed Balls:  
Ms. Walsh reported that Stacey Burke is happy to partner for the seed balls. Chairperson Kohrs  
asked for confirmation before the Earth Day Event so it can be advertised there.
