Subject:	Proposed Agenda Items for Next Ad Hoc Committee Meeting

Dear Chairwoman Garcia-Irizarry,

In preparation for next week's Ad Hoc Committee meeting, I would like to suggest the 
following agenda items for the Committee's consideration:

*	Review of the 2012 public hearing minutes and Town Council deliberations 
concerning the consolidation of the Planning and Zoning Commissions.
*	Discussion of Eric Treaster's letter, Ad Hoc Separation Comments (July 27, 
2026).
*	Review of the Land Use Budgets 1998–2027 analysis.
*	Discussion of obtaining information from Connecticut municipalities that continue 
to maintain separate Planning and Zoning Commissions, including their reasons 
for retaining that structure.
*	Discussion of obtaining information from the Town's administrative staff regarding 
the workload and administrative implications of re-establishing separate 
commissions.
*	Discussion of obtaining information from the Land Use Department regarding 
Zoning Enforcement Officer (ZEO) certification requirements and any 
implications they may have for separating the commissions.

I hope these topics will assist the Committee as it continues its evaluation of the 
potential advantages, challenges, and practical considerations associated with the 
Town's commission structure.
