AYE:
Review the outstanding action items contained in the memo dated October 26, 2023 as
forwarded by Community Relations Committee of the Twenty-sixth Town Council.
2.
Councilor Paul explained that to provide for a seamless transition and for continuity the
Town Council and its Subcommittees have traditionally identified and forwarded to the
incoming Committee business items they believed warranted additional attention/action.
Councilor Paul went on to state that because the previous Community Relations
Committee agreed that the following items were important outstanding/ongoing
matters, they were hopeful that this new Committee would also like to continue with
the work that has been done on them:
1. 2024 Black History Activity/Contest.
2. Community Outreach Informational Forums at the Ledyard Farmers Market
regarding the services the town offers; how to access services, and the
authority residents should direct concerns regarding services.
3. Host “Informal Conversations in the Park” to engage residents in discussions
regarding their concerns and their ideas for potential solutions.
Councilor Paul stated that the Committee would discuss these items in more detail at
their Regular Meeting that was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. this evening.
