The organizational meeting was called to order by Mayor Allyn III at 5:30 p.m. at the Town Hall  
Annex Building.

Mayor Fred B. Allyn III called for nominations for Board Officers:  
Ms. Shipley nominated Ms. Bozym for Chairman. Hearing no further nominations for the Board  
Chairman, by consensus, Mayor Allyn III closed nominations.  
Mayor Allyn III opened the floor for nominations for Vice Chairman. Ms. Bozym nominated  
Ms. Shipley. Hearing no further nominations for the Board Vice Chairman, by consensus,  
Mayor Allyn III closed nominations.  
Mayor Allyn III opened the floor for nominations for Secretary. Ms. Kapusta volunteered for  
Secretary. Hearing no further nominations for the Board Secretary, by consensus, Mayor Allyn  
III closed nominations.  
The following slate of Board Officers were approved:

Establishing a Social Services Board for the Town of Ledyard”.

Mayor Allyn III reviewed the duties and responsibilities outlined in the Ordinance.

RESULT:  
Review Outstanding Items of Business from the former Youth & Social Services Board.  
Ms. Chapman provided an update on the 2024 Holiday Programs. Ms. Chapman stated that 81  
households were provided with Thanksgiving turkeys and meals and 91 households were  
provided with a $20 gift card and Christmas meals. Ms. Chapman added that 99 children  
received gifts through the Adopt-a-Family program.  
Ms. Chapman stated the previous Board was working on ideas to raise funds for Parks &  
Recreation Summer Camp Scholarships. Ms. Chapman added that scholarships are completely  
donation based with no tax payer funding allocated. Ms. Chapman reported that $10,000 in  
additional ARPA funds have been allocated for summer 2025. Ms. Chapman added that Scott  
Johnson, Director of Parks & Recreation had approached her with a possible fundraising  
opportunity to host a semi-professional wrestling tournament. Ms. Chapman stated she is also  
working with Mr. Johnson to schedule a fundraising event at Barkin Barley. Ms. Chapman will  
share fundraising dates via email and will work with Chairman Bozym to call a special meeting  
if necessary. The Board was tasked with brainstorming additional fundraising and promotional  
ideas.

Ms. Shipley moved the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Ms. Kapusta.  
The meeting adjourned at 5:41 p.m.
