FISCAL REPORTS
Fiscal Report.
During the previous meeting, the Committee approved $2000 for the maintenance of Roach
cemetery. During the purchase order approval process Matt Bonin, Finance Director pointed out
that the Roach cemetery had a trust associated with it which could cover the cost. Therefore, the
$2000 balance was still available. A large tree in the Lee Cemetery requires maintenance as it is
considered to be unsafe. A quote was obtained from H&H Landscaping for $2000 for removal of
the branches and the top.

Flags.
The Committee members reported they completed their individual flagging, and it was noted that
the large cemetery flagging was completed fairly quickly. It was reported that several cemeteries
have some issues such as missing medallions, leaning or broken stones, etc. which will need
attention. Mr. Godino had several medallions to distribute to members. Additionally, the old
flags were provided to Mr. Godino for coordination with the scout troop for proper disposal.

Mr. Godino noted the Main Town Cemetery near the end of Route 214, which is a bit larger and

continue to look for additional adopters. The Committee will ensure this cemetery is on the list
for maintenance in the near future.

The Committee is looking for creative ways to obtain Veteran information. Ms. Reynolds
suggested providing pre-addressed postcards to the Sextants to make it easier to receive updated

information card sample for the Sextants.

VII. OLD BUSINESS

VIII. NEW BUSINESS
Any other New Business to Come Before the Committee.
1.
Ms. Lundgren noted several stones within Robert Stoddard Cemetery that were lying down and
broken in several pieces. She noted one was repaired and inquired whether the Committee
repaired it and/or is the Committee able to do so. Mr. Godino noted that the Committee has
repaired several stones before using a two-part epoxy which worked well but has not repaired
one with so many pieces.
Mr. Godino noted there is a broken stone in Fanning cemetery which could be repaired by the
Committee.
The Committee also noted the pathway leading to the Amos Stanton cemetery is need of
maintenance to allow for access.
These items will be added to the list of maintenance work needed to be completed this summer.
Town Cemetery History - Ms. Reynolds suggested potentially seeing if a history teacher was
willing to note down the history of the markers within the town cemeteries by either interviews
or research for preservation. It was noted that this may potentially be a good high school student
project.
