COMMITTEES
Flags -
1.
2.
The flag count is approximately 700 flags. The committee will potentially purchase additional
flags and/or some markers. Mr. Godino noted a request for someone else to assume the
flagging procedures, i.e. ordering, organizing, coordinating the dates, etc. Mr. Godino will
reach out to Ms. Staley as it was noted she may have an interest in doing so.
DISCUSSED
RESULT:
Adopters - Mr. Godino.
Robert Stoddard has a new adopter. Mr. Godino also noted there may be an adopter for the
Hibbard Stoddard Cemetery in Stoddard Park along Route 12. Hibbard Stoddard is a fairly small
cemetery that can be maintained easily. The Main Town Cemetery near the end of Route 214,
which is a bit larger and has not been maintained for almost two years, is available for adoption.
Mr. Godino will continue to look for additional adopters.

Metal Medallions continued.
2.
The Committee is still looking for an alternate source for the metal medallions used for the
veteran flags. Mr. Godino reminded the committee of the possibility of working with the high
school shop class who could provide a few as a part of their curriculum. The Committee also
discussed purchasing a few medallions along with the flags.
DISCUSSED
RESULT:
Connections to Cemetery Book continued.
3.
This project is still an ongoing process. Mr. Vidal reported progress towards completion but still
has several cemeteries to be visited, remapped, and updated with current markers, directions,
GPS locations, etc. Mr. Vidal provided Mr. Godino with a list of cemeteries to assist with
obtaining contact information for access to the properties.
Mr. Godino will ask Ms. Godino about the cover illustrator and for some insight as to how to
proceed.
Mr. Vidal also requested information on access to the cemetery committee website in order to
make changes to the posted listings. He also mentioned there will be some cost associated with
printing the books once the project is completed.
Mr. Godino provided an update on the Newton Cemetery. He was able to obtain a quote from
H&H Landscaping for approximately $4,200. It was presented to the Town, approved, and a
purchase order requested for the work to begin. H&H Landscaping has already removed the trees
and some additional trees that had fallen. Mr. Godino noted that H&H Landscaping did a great
job with the removal and left the cemetery in very good condition.
DISCUSSED
