VII. COMMITTEE REPORTS
Sawmill Committee - Mr. Barnes.
1.
- The fall season started last weekend (October 7th).
- The RFP for Tail race has been submitted. Mr. Barnes received a phone call because there was
a stipulation that the Sawmill could be visited. The hope is to have three bids, bidding closes on
10/19. All work would most likely start next year (2024). Some work could possibly start this
year, weather depending. The contract could be awarded, with work to start before the 2024
Spring season.
- Updated proposal was received from Beth Acly, Cirrus Engineer with a slightly reduced quote
of $4,500. It has been sent out for review. If approved, they would move forward. Ms. Acly is
also working on a proposal for an ADA entrance.
- Details around another RFP for the lining of the Inlet pipe have been created. Mr. Ganong is
pulling additional information together. The estimated cost could possibly be 30-40K.
- Additional work on the outside may need to occur on the corner of the building, it's not
expected to be a large expense.

-The Cider Day Event was held on October 7th. The event was successful, it included pumpkin
decorating, cider press demonstrations, face painting several demos, an Archeological dig
demonstration, a spinner inside the house, and a black smithing.
-Planning to talk to the Society about potentially doing demonstrations on some of the other
items that are currently in the barn.
-The Yuletide event will be on December 3rd. The Committee will be partnering with the
Historic Society. The Garden Club will be decorating the NLH in the style of the 1940's.
-Ornament Crafting event will be on Saturday November 18th.
- Attendance on the weekends has fallen (as expected this time of year). Need to decide to keep
it open this late into the season. Can also consider other hours such as 1:00-4:00.
-Chairman Godino was able to attend the Historic Society meeting and received permission to
repair the tray on the cider press.
